STEP 1
You can easily start the process by using our online scheduler to book a Full Service Discovery Call. After the call, if we feel we are a good fit for your project, we will schedule a consultation to move forward. At this time, an intake questionnaire will be emailed for you to complete. At the consultation, we will tour your space and review your project in detail. An estimate of design fees and a contract will be provided after the consultation for your review.

STEP 2
After discussing your goals, style preferences and more, we will start the design process. You are a part of the team and your input is valued! During the design process, we measure and produce floor plans as needed, create a design concept, and procure fixtures and finishes. We present the designs to you and request feedback. We also begin working with a contractor to get an estimate on the project and coordinate schedules for construction.

STEP 3
Designs are solidified and purchases begin. Construction is underway and we meet frequently on site as a team to keep everyone updated on progress. Behind the scenes, we are communicating with contractors, tracking orders with our vendors, and much more to keep everything flowing smoothly. In the final weeks, we coordinate clean up, installation of furnishings and accessories (if applicable), and get your space ready for living!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
An interior designer has the skills and professional education to design and draft floor plans, as well as develop lighting and electrical plans, select interior finishes such as flooring, counters, tile, paint colors, etc., as well as specify plumbing, lighting, appliances, cabinetry, furnishings, and more.
If your project involves changing structural walls or adding square footage, an architect and/or structural engineer will need to be part of your team. They will provide the necessary drawings and structural calculations required by your local building department to pass building code inspections and ensure your safety and welfare. Pacific Design Co. can recommend architects and engineers to assist with the parts of projects that fall outside of our scope of work.
It is essential for the designer and contractor(s) to be in communication about project goals, budgets, and timelines. Pacific Design Co. loves to be involved during the construction process to ensure designs and details are carried out and that contractors have all the information they need to complete the project. Regular site visits and meetings with contractors and consultants is a common service we offer. Pacific Design Co. is happy to make recommendations for general contractors and other industry professionals. If you already have someone in mind to complete the construction of your project, we would love to meet and work with them as well.
This depends on the scope of the project, how much planning has been done, lead times for products necessary to complete the job, and contractor availability. While the design phase usually ranges from 4-12 weeks, there can be variables such as extra revisions. Sometimes smaller details of the design phase will continue while construction is underway.
Once under construction, smaller renovations may take just a few months, whereas larger projects can take six months or more. Bringing a contractor onto the team early can help for estimating the construction timeline for your project as well as getting subcontractors lined up in the project’s schedule.
While we are based in Spokane, Washington, we’ve worked on projects throughout the Pacific Northwest! Our typical area of service is Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and surrounding areas. We are always open to serving clients in other areas, as technology allows us to communicate with clients and share designs with little to no in-person meetings. For projects outside of Spokane that require in-person meetings and construction site visits, travel fees and arrangements will be discussed to determine the most efficient use of time.
Full service design is a term that basically means we have the ability to coordinate your project from the beginning of design to end of construction and furnishings installation. It’s a turn-key approach, but not every project includes all of these services. We discuss with each client the services that make the most sense for their project. It may include any of the following:
- Measuring Existing Spaces
- Space Planning
- Architectural Drafting of Floor Plans
- 3D Renderings
- Interior and Exterior Elevations
- Custom Designs for Built-Ins or Cabinetry
- Fixture Selections (plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc.)
- Finish Selections (flooring, tile, paint, etc.)
- Lighting Design & Electrical Plans
- Furnishings & Accessories Selection
- Custom Furniture Design
- Window Treatments
- Product Purchasing, Coordination of Deliveries & Installation
- Project Management with Contractors & Subcontractors
While we do not offer free consultations, we do offer a free discovery call that you can book online. This is a 30 minute video chat or phone call available if you’d like to get to know us or ask questions about your specific project to see if we are the right fit. Our in-home consultations are an investment of $150 and with that, we commit our time and expertise to providing you with valuable information and advice for your project.
Just like the variables in how long a project will take, this question has similar possibilities depending on your unique project’s needs. Full service projects start with a consultation that lasts up to 1 hour and we discuss these needs in detail. The cost of this initial consultation is $150 and can be scheduled online.
After the consultation, Pacific Design Co. will prepare a design proposal for estimated fees. Although we work on an hourly basis, this provides an estimated total of what you can expect to invest for our design services. Full service projects typically range from $5,000 to $25,000 depending on project size and scope.
The best way to determine if your budget is in the right price range is to schedule a free discovery call with us to discuss. After hearing a brief description of your project, we will usually be able to tell you if your budget is in the right ball park. To get a more specific price break down, we would need to bring your project scope and design to a contractor who can further estimate labor and materials.
If your project scope and budget are not aligned, we can provide suggestions on the most effective way to use your budget and still get great results. We have some clients that choose to complete their project in phases and we are happy to discuss the most efficient way to do this as well.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
If you have a project you would like to discuss or questions about pricing, the design process, or what service is right for you, let’s chat! Please send us a message or schedule a free discovery call. We’d love to get to know you and see how we can help!
