Calling Pacific Design was THE best decisions I’ve ever made for our home! I feel lucky to live in Spokane just to have Shaleesa as a resource! In a one hour consultation, she solved a long list of issues I saw with our 1980 living room. The room has bewildered me for years starting with the rock fireplace. Shaleesa quickly identified the real problem – lighting – and offered great advice on every other aspect of the room as well, down to furniture arrangement. She saved me from making some serious mistakes! Now I know what to adjust and what NOT to change. I can move forward with confidence instead of feeling stuck and overwhelmed. When my husband and I decided to build a house, I knew that the most stressful part would be coming up with an interior we both liked. Our Pinterest Boards were pretty different, with him not liking my choices and me not liking his. There are a million different ideas out there, and I was overwhelmed. We met with Shaleesa after I saw some of her work on Instagram and liked what I saw. Shaleesa was able to combine our individual interests into a look that worked for both of us. She narrowed our choices down for each room and presented us with several options, all while considering our budget. She assisted us with tile, grout color, carpet, cabinets, hardware, lighting etc. By the end, we had a cohesive look for the entire house which we both loved, minus the stress. It was money well spent!

I was also keen to get the names of the most highly skilled subcontractors in our area. Shaleesa quickly answered all of my questions. Finally, we also talked about all of the different factors that need to be considered when selecting paint colors for interior rooms. After admiring Shaleesa’ s work for years we hired her for a larger remodel on a 1980 custom home to bring it into 2024 and beyond! Shaleesa asked us our wants, needs and explained the entire process. She encouraged us to pinpoint our lifestyle needs and to build our renovation plan around enhancing our home life. Shaleesa provided us with professional and detailed demolition, floor plan, electrical plan, cabinet package, and procurement list. Shaleesa is like a fairy godmother during construction phase, answering questions as they arise and is an invaluable set of eyes on the construction site. Shaleesa provided us with cohesive and beautiful designs, and saves us from making costly design and space mistakes. Phase I is near completion and we’ll post pictures soon. Phase II to begin soon.

I had the pleasure of working with Shaleesa and her team on the remodel of our bedroom and powder room. Shaleesa and her team truly listened to my wants, ideas and needs. Having a very busy life myself, I appreciated we only had to meet a handful of times and each visit was well thought out and productive. They came prepared and on time but never was it a rushed meeting. I truly appreciated the products they suggested were right in line with my style and what we had discussed, were whittled down to a few choices so it wasn’t overwhelming and ranged from high end to item found at Target, I think that is super cool and thoughtful. The local vendors Shaleesa works with are of the best quality and thoughtful as well. When we begin our next project Shaleesa and her team will be my choice!

Talk about impressive! Shaleesa and Pacific Design Company are in a league by themselves. From Design to details, all of this matters to them. They take the time to really listen and figure out how they can best support your dreams. For my wife and I we needed her to help create a vision for a house remodel without pushing us into ideas that weren’t a good fit for us. Needless to say, as we moved through the steps of the process, we found that she was able to grasp our ideas and create something uniquely special for us. Even when at times we were unsure of some of the creative boards, we found we would end up gravitating back to them. She never pushed us and was always so receptive to changes. At one point we had to pivot due to budget constraints and she was excited to move in a new creative way without missing a beat. Shaleesa is a true visionary and talented professional. When you spend even a little bit of time with her, you will find that this isn’t just a professional degree she went to school for but she has a God given talent that is unmatched in the industry. You know when you know and I would endorse her services for any design project in the future. She’s current, trendy and exceeds expectations. We are just wrapping up a major (5400sf) remodel/new build in New England in which Shaleesa played a huge role.
Working from floorplans, video tours and many Zooms she guided us towards a beautiful, timeless and very livable forever home.
The procurement list was extensive because I asked her to choose nearly everything and she completed it on time and with a lot of thought to special requests. Sourcing was a challenge since many of the GCs subs aren’t familiar with things I requested but Shaleesa was able to find everything from vendors they could access.
I’m looking forward to a final completion this summer and excited to share the pictures with her, and a visit.

Our 1920s home was cute and cozy but the space was really ineffectual used and Shaleesa took the limited space we have and redesigned our kitchen and basement to be so beautiful and also useable and comfortable. We had a home built and chose everything oursevles (out of the limited choices offered by our homebuilder)…. after nearly 5 years I’m still feeling like it’s not 100% ‘pulled together’ – so I scheduled Shaleesa. Shaleesa spent just an hour with me and I learned so much that will now help me ‘figure out the rest’ to pull it altogether. If I could do things over I would use her help from the get go !!! Shaleesa Mize designed and executed a significant reconstruction/renovation of our kitchen, dining room, laundry, master bathroom, main stairway in our 1906 family home. Shalessa was a great help as my husband and I were struggling how to maximize the living space in our new house. We had been planning to remove a small wall, but Shalessa suggested changes to our furniture and TV placements and to see how that worked for us before we went to the expense of removing the wall. She measured and marked off her suggested furniture placements with painters tape and sketched out her ideas. She gave us suggestions we hadn’t considered. We’re so glad we stumbled across her website!

Very good value! Think about it… if only one nugget of professional input makes your life, or living space more valuable to you, the reasonable fee they charge is well worth it. The person that visited my home from Little Pacific Design Studio gave me at least three or four “nuggets” that I should have thought of on my own…. but didn’t. How can I describe the service I received from Little Pacific Design Studio and be concise? There is no way. I will just highlight some key points.
I thought I was the only client of the Studio when my home was undergoing complete renovation. At the end of my remodel when we were styling my home, I asked if there had been other clients simultaneously and was told there had been several. This was quite a surprise because I never had a clue. I was treated as if I was the only project. I’m still mystified as to how this could have been done as I was very needy. We had a medical crisis in our family at the outset of my project and I had to stay pretty much out of the day to day decisions. It was all pulled together in a very short period of time with hardly any participation on my end.
The customer service aspect was crucial to me in this project. It is so lacking with many companies in this day of over committment. I received top notch service and the turn around time with phone calls, emails or texts was always within the same day. Unheard of!
The Studio had to wait to hear from me on many occasions. Again, this couldn’t be helped with the illness.
My home is the most beautiful example of the kind of conscientious, intelligent, gifted, and creative company you could ever hope to engage for your design project. I have referred them to a friend who is quite particular and the friend has been extremely pleased with the results and guidance thus far. I think the highest praise can be summed up this way: I wish I could start all over again tomorrow so this fun never had to end. I have a new friend as a bonus. Yes, you can get good service these days!!!

Shaleesa was extremely pleasant and helpful, gave me wonderful ideas and important information such as where to find the best/most economical materials for each type of item that I needed. She was honest and told me if an idea of mine was outdated and offered alternative solutions where needed, but also quickly got a sense of my style and worked with it. She also gave me great tips for the exterior of my house and landscape, which I know was outside of the scope of what I had hired her for. We recently completed a project in our home with the guidance of Little Pacific Design Studio. We live in a 1940’s home with the traditional two minimal closets in the bedroom which had very limited viewing or access of the closet space. Shaleesa designed a wall closet and storage organization unit which opened up an entire wall by using 3 sliding door panels. It is extremely versatile and I no longer have to deal with morning anger trying to see into my closet. There is now absolutely space for everything. Shaleesa offered a design solution and then proceeded to find the best contractor for the job. She met with the contractor several times and guided us through the entire project looking for the most economical route to the best end project. We love our “new” bedroom and are looking forward to another renovation project utilizing Little Pacific Design Studio’s talents.” Thank you for a great experience in renovation!

I can’t say enough about Shaleesa; she has been absolutely wonderful to work with! My husband was VERY skeptical about hiring a designer since we are on a tight DIY budget, but now he sees the value… Shaleesa helped us “see” the outcome and showed us the areas worth investing a little more while steering us away for what we assumed were necessary expenses before we ever spent a dime.
Instead of the “rip it out” or “paint it all” responses that we received from other designers that we interviewed, Shaleesa did an amazing job of blending our home’s natural cabin characteristics (which differed from our personal taste) with a fresh, updated look that complimented versus changed what the home inherently was.
She’s always been flexible and accommodating of my crazy schedule, and very patient with the multiple times that my husband and I couldn’t agree on the options. I never expected to work with someone that was so invested in understanding our family’s needs, open to our litany of “what do you think about this idea?” moments, and figured out how to incorporate what we were really in love with while tactfully helping us conclude what did not work within the overall design.
Beyond our initial Great Room project, we have continued to hire Shaleesa for additional projects; I highly recommend her to anyone that either doesn’t know where to start or needs help bring several inspiration ideas into one overall design (we threw both at her!).
Thanks again Shaleesa for helping us transform a “house with potential” into an inviting home! Despite the fact that we are in the middle of the renovation, we are already loving the results!
